Page in progress (April 2025)

Some preliminary notes on the organ illustrated below. Thanks to Steve for the pictures. Moulded plastic keys; covering lightly textured vinyl (vynide); lid secured with screws on top. The side panels of the keyboards are of wood rather than the metal of later Super Continentals.

The principal transistors on the tone generator boards are yellow Thorn AC113s (equivalent to the Mullard OC71). Among the TCC and Plessey electrolytic capacitors the latest date code is October 1965.

The preamp board corresponds with JMI circuit diagram TO/050, drawn in November 1965, and the tone generator boards correspond with TO/049 (also November) - . The generators are not of the type described as being "early production" in the Thomas Organ manual of late 1966.

Export to the USA was clearly envisaged from the outset as the mains transformer has the option of 110v / 240v. An introductory page on the Super Continental .
