The Jennings Minivox
1953
In progress, October 2025
The "Minivox", a table-top keyboard unit with built-in amplifier and speaker, was a short-lived off-shoot of the "Univox". To date, no example has come to light.

Below, an advert for the Jennings stand at the "British Industries Fair", April 1953. The five models in view were the J50, J51, and J52 console organs; the Univox J6, and the Minivox. The Univox J7 was not added to the range until later in the year - see this page.

In 1955, the idea behind the unit (in terms of keyboard design) was taken up again in the form of the Jennings J48 portable organ. A stand, however, was required for the J48's keyboard - principally to allow the use of the swell (volume) bar.
