The Brimar ECC82
JMI-made Vox AC30s, 1960s
The pages below come from the Brimar "Radio Valve and Teletube Manual" of c. 1964. The company was owned by "Standard Telephone and Cables" and based at Foot's Cray in Kent, not too far from Dartford an Erith. The main office was on Charing Cross Road, a few doors up from the Jennings shop.
JMI regularly used Brimar-made ECC82 and ECC83s in its amplifiers in the early and mid 1960s, along with Brimar-branded GZ34s and EL84s, these two last made by Mullard.
Brimar-made ECC82s and ECC83s have a date code sequence of their own - i.e. the company did not follow the one devised by Mullard.
Early Mullard data sheets for the ECC82 are available on this page.
