The Domino Echo mark 2 was released in late 1964. Its livery - grey and green - matched that of the newly-revamped range of amps.

Its case, with latching top and front covers along the lines of the Vox "Short Tom" Echo, marked a considerable departure from the earlier slope-fronted Domino Echo mark 1.

The circuit devised for the Domino Echo mark 1 and 2 was in essence copied from the Watkins (WEM) Copicat mark 2 - which may go some way to explaining why JMI did not circulate (publicly) a service sheet for the units. One does survive, however, (a single copy currently known) in the form of JMI OS/042, drawn by Mike Turner on 19th December 1963.

The electronics of serial number 3132.

The complement of valves was: two ECC83s (12AX7) and one 6BR8. The mains transformer allowed for operation at 110V (potentially for the USA) or 240V.

In September 1964, the Domino Echo mark 2 was pitched at £47 and 5 shillings by Jennings, over £30 less than the Vox "Short Tom" Echo unit (at the head of the list below):

An overview of surviving units.

The serial number range for the Domino Echo mark 2 is likely to have begun at 3000. Numbers were hand-stamped. Serial number plates were fixed inside the removable top cover.
