The Vox Domino range - serial number plates

Late 1963 to 1966

In common with other Jennings amplifiers, the various models of Vox Domino had serial number sequences of their own. They also had distinctive types of plate with "AMPLIFIER" at their head rather than "VOX AMPLIFIER". Now and again amplifier sections were also given bronze "Jennings" badges, doubtless left-overs from the late 1950s.

The plates were produced in three main forms, in chronological order: (1) short silver panels for stamped details (model and serial number); (2) plastic plates, used for a short time in 1964; and (3) similar to (1) but two longer fields.

Type 1

The silver panels are relatively short, extending to the "L" of "MUSICAL". "A.C. MAINS" is spaced away from the upper panel.

Type 2

This type of plate is analogous to the plastic plates used on AC30s with serial numbers in the 11000s. Its text differs from the panels illustrated above.

Domino plastic plate, corresponding in terms of use to the plastic plates used on AC30s, serial numbers 11160 - 11600.

Type 3

The text is the same as the first type above, but the silver panels are longer, extending to the "N" of "INDUSTRIES". "A.C. MAINS" is tight against the upper panel.
