A Jennings Organ Company Model C
West Street Works, early 1965
These pictures come from a short segment of film filmed in the organ section of the West Street Works at Erith in early 1965, showing the closing of the upper keyboard of a Model C organ, then the tone section above it.
The Model C remained in JMI catalogues and pricelists until at least November 1965, having been introduced first in early 1956 along with the Model A - see this page. Only the Univox surpassed it in longevity.
By 1965, the form of the wooden case had evidently been simplified. The volutes at the sides became straight sloping edges.
Note the bronze "The Jennings Organ Company" runner above the upper manual, still in Gothic script.
