Vox AC30s in beige (mostly), serial numbers unknown

1961 - 1963

This is in some respects a "holding page" for images of AC30/6s, serial numbers unknown. Cabinets are mostly, though not exclusively, beige. Where possible component date codes are noted. It may be possible, in time, to move some of the amps encompassed below to the main pages. Distribution by year is purely provisional in a number of cases.

Back boards where they can be seen generally have square corners.

Beige amps with serial numbers in the 5000s ; those in the 6000s, .

If anyone knows of further early AC30s that should be added to this page, .

1961

Probably a black panel AC30/6.

Serviced by Alan Pyne, who took over 119 Dartford Road when "Jennings Electronic Industries" folded in 1975. The speakers, which are much earlier than the chassis, may have been added by him.

1962

The main preamp filter cap. has the date code "TH" = August 1962.

Currently in Japan.

Distinctive wear to the top front edge.

A single image, perhaps separated from others.

Distinctive wear left top corner of the cabinet. The clamp of the preamp filter cap clamps the cap high up.

A cut-down. The chassis number stamped on the preamp unfortunately too indistinct to read.

A small hole in the grille cloth low down, right of centre.

Again, distinctive marks on the grille cloth. The chassis - a Treble model indicated by the flash of red paint lower right - does not belong with the cabinet.

These look familiar - note the blue ARS filter cap and the doubled-up filter caps in the preamp.

Heavy luggage handles and what looks like a pattern of hexagons on the top of the amp. Note the diagonal scratch across the serial number plate.

1963

Cabinet is the original, but recovered and with later speakers. The Woden mains transformer has the date code "LT" = November 1962.

A replaced speaker. Serial number plate with distinctive wear. Perhaps recovered. Note the rounded off corners to the back boards. New-style plastic handles.
